Salt Lake City’s FREE Monster Block Party Event This Saturday!

SALT LAKE CITY – Saturday, October 29th from 11:00am to 3:00 pm, Salt Lake City and The Gallivan Center, invite residents to attend their FREE and freaky fun Halloween event outside on the Gallivan Center plaza.
 
Live music and dance performances by the Utah Children’s Theatre, Craig Nybo Band, and Thompson Lane Entertainment, trick or treating, costume contests, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, pony rides, train rides (for a small fee), face painting, the great pumpkin drop, and so much more! Wear their favorite costumes for Monster Block Party and enter this year’s costume contest to win some great prizes! There 4 costume contest divisions to enter into- Kids (Ages 0-12), Teens (Ages 13-17), Adults (Ages 18 and up), and Family/Group.
 
Over 30 trick-or-treat booths along with an assortment of crafts, including masks, trick-or-treat bags, bracelet making, and more will be available at the Gallivan Center. Around the plaza, scenes of cemeteries and pumpkin patches will create the perfect backdrop for DIY photo booths.  Parents bring your cameras, so the kids can remember their best Halloween yet! Food trucks will also be on site for the event providing a variety food for purchase.
 
“This event is fun and free for the whole family,” said Tara Olson, Salt Lake City Events Manager. “Come and enjoy the great weather outside and take part in all the fun activities this event has to offer.”
 
It’s important to close with a bang, or maybe a splatter. What better way to help people remember Monster Block Party than with a pumpkin drop? The Salt Lake City Fire Department will drop several large pumpkins off the top of a cherry picker three stories tall, making one giant mess.
